thejollySprinkle is something we day-dreamed last summer - an original neighborhood soda fountain on wheels, serving up the good old-fashioned ice cream you remember... when we put it that way... golly gee, we're basically part ice cream stand, part time machine.

we proudly partner with Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor + Creamery, a local chicago from-scratch ice cream maker + micro-bakery committed to using local, real + dye-free ingredients to create their ridiculously delicious super premium ice creams + ice cream sandwiches. we also love making limited-release mini-batches of specials (like our all-natural watermelon popsicles, eclair-cake-ice cream cups + orange sherbet-vanilla push-up pops) in our tiny commercial kitchen. we've also been known to offer a good humor favorite, a frozen candy bar or organic johnny pops on the ice cream bike. keeping the art + magic of a soda jerk alive.

we have two ice cream bikes currently. bicycle1 is an "Icycle Tricycles" cherry red tricycle that we rescued from the food court in the merchandise mart where it sat idly for too many years. bicycle2 is a 1940's italian ice vendor tricycle built by Chicago's Acorn Sheet Metal Company with Schwinn parts, that we were proud to buy from the famous west-side Mazzone's Italian Ice family. both are black-white-and-red-all-over, and covered in sprinkles. they are happy little ice cream bicycles! the rest of our set-up is kismit. the pagoda red+white umbrella, the perfect bouquet of flowers + the classic sandwich board have all been sourced from, or recommended by, other mom+pop+kids businesses.
